Cool drier weather is still here and so are the fun events and things to do in Ocala. This weekend, Nov 2-4 2012, there are arts, food and fun happening around town.
Friday night is first Friday Art Walk in downtown Ocala. This takes place on the town square from 6-8 pm. Live music, historical displays, scavenger hunt, artist displays, gallery exhibits, and extended retail hours in the many wonderful shops around the downtown square. Come down and enjoy what a Southern Hospitality is all about. If you are lucky enough to live in Caldwell Addition, Woodfields or Oakleigh, then you are in biking or walking distance from this event. So get exercise and culture in one fun filled outing!
On Saturday, the 31st Marion County Chili Cook Off will be held at the Live Stock Pavilion at 2232 NE Jacksonville Rd. This yummy event runs from 9 to 5 pm. Over 1,000 gallons of chili will be prepared for this event. Most being from the 40 plus teams competing for the top prize. It is only .25 cent per ticket to buy a sample of chili and $3 to buy a cup. All proceeds go to benefit Cornerstone School. Each team will design their booth and dress in costume. So not only can you vote for your favorite chili, you can vote for your favorite booth! There will be other food options, live music and fun for the kids. Don’t miss this event!
As it is on every Saturday, the Farm Market will also take place down town on the square. Yummy local produce, crafts, greenery, and much more will be available.
Have a great time and be safe in whatever activity you do! If you would like any information on homes in the Ocala area, please let me know. I would love to help you.
